Ex-Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim has written and produced the music for a new PlayStation game, "Eliminator", from Psygnosis. It'll hit the shops on February 5 and is also available in a PC CD-ROM Format.
Ibrahim commented: "I recorded the soundtrack for 'Eliminator' at The Forge Studio over three months during the summer of 1998. Focusing on the speed of the gameplay, my main objective was to produce music that was different from your run-of-the-mill techno, mainly by added guitars...
I would love to write more game soundtracks, because music seems to be increasingly influential as the quality of games is improving. Just like film soundtracks, in-game music goes hand-in-hand with the onscreen action."
Aziz has recently been working on his solo album, which will feature guest appearance from Paul Weller, Noel Redding, Talvin Singh, Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and Mani (The Stone Roses and Primal Scream). He is also working with Deepak Verma (Sanjay from "EastEnders") and is contributing to Ian Brown's second solo LP.
