STONE ROSES: THIRD COMING CANCELLED

A STONE ROSES reformation is looking increasingly unlikely following a statement from IAN BROWN denying the rumours.

Fans have blitzed Stone Roses Internet sites to chat about the rumour since NME revealed John Squire's split with the The Seahorses.

But last week, the official Ian Brown webiste, at www.ianbrown.co.uk, stated: "A spokesman for Ian Brown denies that there is any truth in the rumours that The Stone Roses will reform, following the demise of The Seahorses."

Brown, who last appeared on the UNKLE single 'Be There', is now working on four tracks with Manchester's 808 State.

The Seahorses are keeping tight-lipped about the rumours while they finalise contractual agreement after the break-up.

As for the rest of the original Roses, bass player Mani is currently DJing for tribute band The Complete Stone Roses on their UK tour.

He will appear on the new Primal Scream album, due out later this year. It is not known what Reni and Cressa are up to, although both are believed to be living in Manchester.
