"There's a full figure in that one, again accidental. I tried recreating the effect, controlling the line, but it didn't work. It's like the outline you get on sport logos." (Speaking to Select Magazine Nov 97)

The original 'Made Of Stone' piece 'Cody Calling' was not on display at the recent ICA Exhibition, apparently it got lost on-route to Liam Gallagher...

Do people ever bug you to give them a painting?
Liam Gallagher asked me for one, so I sent him the painting for 'Made of Stone'. I'm trying to track it down because he claims he never got it. Someone at the office has snaffled it away. (Speaking to X-ray Magazine Feb 04)

I feel there are some striking similarities between John's 'Cody Calling' piece and this piece by Pollock. John uses very similar colours and technique to the Pollock piece. And while John's piece have a much more blue tone about it I feel that he has used the black and white in a very similar manner.

Also the title of John's piece, "Cody Calling" is a reference to Jackson Pollock in itself as Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming, USA.
