Forthcoming LP : A World Of Hearts Right Here

Andy Watts, 12 Bar Cafe, Paul Stevens, 2004

So this was the last of 3 warm-up gigs before Andy Watts' support slot with the John Butler Trio at the Manchester's The Academy 3 (Nov 10) and London's Shepherds Bush Empire (Nov 11) next week and if tonight's performance was anything to go by then I'm sure Andy will suitably warm-up the crowds at those venues.

Starting the show again with 'Believe', then newer songs, 'Picture Within' and 'Line'. Old Mozer bandmate and guitarist, Paul Dawson even joined Andy onstage for a couple of songs, well, next to it anyway. Andy also played a rendition 'Lawn Life' a Mozer track, which only made it to the home demo stage. Andy delivered some very haunting vocals on 'Red Room'. 'Dragonfly', where he was joined by accordion player, 'Doctor' Roger was another example of Andy's emotive voice, you can really feel that these latest collection of songs come from the heart.

Title-track of forthcoming debut LP 'A World Of Hearts Right Here', was again a standout track this evening, Andy accompanied by Roger, performed a sublime live version, flooding with emotion and some serious fingerwork throughout. The set closed with the usual (well 2 out of 2 shows now) 'Mr Good News'.

A slightly longer set tonight and a couple of guest muso friends, but the highlight was simple, Andy's songs, instantly likeable, well structured and performed perfectly every time.
