Brown plays shock Roses set
EX-Stone Roses' front man Ian Brown has shocked concert goers by playing a full set of his former band's songs for the first time in almost eight years.
The singer made his only live appearance of the summer on July 25 at the Claremont Landscape Garden National Trust park in the south east of England, packing the set with classic songs from the band's back catalogue.
According to NME.com, the artist hired members of a tribute band called 'Fools Gold', to play hits including: 'I Wanna Be Adored', 'Fools Gold' and 'Waterfall'.
The star has played the odd track since going solo in 1998, but it is the first time Brown has sung several tracks since the band's final show together at the Reading Festival in 1996.
Only Brown and bassist Mani remained from the original line-up following the departure of drummer Reni and guitarist John Squire.
One fan at the show told NME.COM: "I wasn't old enough to see the Stone Roses and I've seen loads of tribute bands, but this is the closest anyone will ever get to seeing the real thing."
The star is also played a new song, Time Is My Everything, a track taken from his new LP, Solarized, set for release on September 20.
