WRONG WAR, RIGHT TUNE!

IAN BROWN and UNKLE showcased their new song 'R.E.I.G.N.' at the FABRIC CND WRONG WAR benefit club event in LONDON last night (March 20).

Former Stone Roses frontman Brown received a typically rapturous reception when he jumped onstage at midnight to provide vocals on the UNKLE track 'Be There'. Brown provided vocals on the track when it was released as a single in 1999.

The collective also performed 'If Dolphins Were Monkeys' from Ian Brown's 'Golden Greats' LP, before unveiling the fierce orchestral breakbeat of 'R.E.I.G.N.', the chorus of which went "I am the reign, I am the lightning". The recorded version features Brown's former Roses bandmate Mani on bass.

Earlier in the evening, Pulp's Jarvis Cocker manned the turntables with his Desperate Sound System to play Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' and Status Quo's 'In the Army Now'

The KLF's Bill Drummond was also in attendance selling his Silent Protest anti-war cards.

Death In Vegas' Richard Fearless and X-Press 2 also performed.
