27th May 2005 15 Years ago to the day, The Stone Roses played their landmark gig at Spike Island, a toxic dump on the Mersey Estuary in front of 30,000 fans. To commemorate the significant date, John Squire has commissioned a special Spike Island print which is a reproduction of the original artwork which was subsequently used on T-shirts and posters. This huge print (70cm x 100cm) is strictly limited to 150, priced at £250. To order a print, click here.

25th May 2005 BBC 6Music gets Mani's word on the reformation latest. He talks about John meeting up with Reni for the first time again at the Arthur Lee & Love gig back in March. To read the full article, click here.
25th May 2005 Manchester Online is the first to quash this latest Roses rumour with the usual denial straight from Ian Brown who simply says, "Well, all I’ve got to say is, why would I do that?"; however, reading the full article there's a full more balanced and less emotional response from Brown, whether this is a sign that things are winding down between them "remains to be seen". 25th May 2005 Ian Brown.co.uk reveals details of the US releases of Ian Brown's backcatalogue on Koch Records (26th July). The release is set to include special mixes and videos, many of which have never been available in the US before and in the case of 'Music Of The Spheres' this will be coupled with 'Remixes Of The Spheres' in a special double CD. Ian Brown's Greatest Hits album is also set for release in the States, given the same provisional date as the UK release (22nd August).

25th May 2005 Now, a bit of a bizarre one for you but I was watching the telly last night and Eastenders came on and Shane Richie appeared sitting down infront of (what I'm sure was) the exact same wallpaper that was used in the 'Room In Brooklyn' promo video for the entire backdrop, bands instruments and shirts, etc... as pictured below! A search on the internet provided me with some info, the pattern is actually called Compton by William Morris and was designed as far back as 1895! To see more about the Compton pattern, click here. So there you go, one for the fans of obscure references! Also, just a couple of mins after that they played Ian Brown's 'The Sweet Fanastic' in the foreground for one scene.

25th May 2005 I've set up a special 'Road To The Reunion' thread on JSU forums with follows this latest rumour and traces it back to John Squire's debut solo gig where he opened his career with a powerful statement in the form out the 'I Am The Resurrection' outro solo. It's your one-stop for all most recent quotes and developments. To check it out, click here.
25th May 2005 London based magazine Time Out got more than they bargined for whilst interviewing John Squire about the classic Roses gig at Ally Pally (08/11/1989) for their Top 100 London's Greatest Gigs (Ally Pally coming 80th). As the interview drew to a close the writer asked John Squire if he was to record any further solo LPs only to be told, "the plan is to make a ferocious guitar album on my own. And then to put the Roses back together." These comments have sparked another wave of Roses reformation rumours, with many publications getting onboard. To read the full interview, click here.
25th May 2005 Andy Watts plays an intimate acoustic gig at The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, London, SE15 3BE (Oct 20) this evening (onstage on 9.15pm). Joining Andy onstage as always with be Roger Goslin plus a special guest.
18th May 2005 According to John Squire's website / design team, John plans to commission a new art print - a 15th Anniversary print of the Spike Island poster (which will - hopefully - be available from the 27th May and in very limited quantities) expect this to be confirmed very soon.
Apparently John & family are all doing well and he has spent the last year busy on his painting having had one or two commissions plus adding to his own catalogue of pieces.
There is also talk of an event-based promotion of John's artwork in the autumn but this is in the very early stages and no details are yet available.
They were unable to confirm anything definite about John Squire's musical career, however, I was told that John "was writing songs again and focusing back on this activity for the immediate future"... so fingers crossed on us getting to hear some new Squire material in the not-too-distant future..
16th May 2005 Fiction Records release the first details of Ian Brown's Greatest Hits album, which is expected to be released at the end of August. Fiction, Ian's record label have also made it clear that there will be future Ian Brown studio albums released on their label and that this is just to mark Ian's astounding career to date. As well as classic Ian Brown tracks there are expected to be a few new tracks (probably including Ian's recent political outing 'Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea' that we've already seen the lyrics for) and also re-recordings of existing songs. The Official Ian Brown website have also confirmed the rumours of a DVD release but this may not see a release until 2006.
