December 2005 Archive

24th December 2005 Just a quick note to say that the forum is not closed or missing or anything... it's just down at the moment due to the changeover/upgrade of software which is being carried out by the hosts at hyperboards.com... apologies for any and all inconveniences but it's been totally out of my hands... hopefully it should be back up very soon... Merry Christmas y'all.

24th December 2005 Well, Christmas is upon us yet again! I'd just like to take the opportunity of thanking everyone for all the visits, support and contributions over the last 3 and a half years! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. I'm sure I'm not alone in the fact that I can't wait to hear some Squire related news. 2005 was possibly Ian Brown's 'Greatest' year to date, touring the world and putting out his Greatest Hits and I'm sure he won't stop for 2006. Let's hope we hear more from all 4 Roses, either individually or collectively!

12th December 2005 Ian Brown's 'Greatest Promos' DVD is finally out today. It features all single promo videos from 'My Star' to 'All Ablaze' and including the two UNKLE collaboration tracks, all in never-before released full-screen, high quality with interactive menus, etc. Order it from Amazon.co.uk. 2nd December 2005 According to BBC News, the Warchild auction has now taken place (already?!) and the John Squire piece fetched £6,000 for the charity while the two Hurst pieces went for a more modest £2,000 each. Overall, the sale at the Proud Gallery in London made a total of £15,000. More info, available here.

1st December 2005 John Squire is to donate the artwork that he created for the cover of this year's Warchild album, 'Help: A Day In The Life Of' for an auction for the charity. Others artworks are to be donated by two members of Maximo Park and Turner Prize winner, Damien Hirst. BBC News covers the story with a small article, available here.
