Re: Ruined, Tarnished, Status Quo or Enhanced?

The reputation of the Roses fanbase was also tarnished during the 2011-2017 period... Nobody on here, of course. But various knobheads on other forums and social media. Tossers claiming to be 'in the know', attention seeking clowns claiming that they knew the lyrics to 'Mantis', pricks with countdo...

Is Mani still on the cigs?
Didn't Reni say something during the press conference about them all being on smoker's wagon?

Yeah, coz 55 is ancient for a musician.

Getting paid a fortune to travel the world must be such a chore for the poor lad.
It could be for someone in ill health. At any age.
Agreed. He didn't look well in the press conference and looked significantly worse by Hampden.

Re: Mani selling a lot of equipment

He's 55. He has more money in the bank that ever before. He has 2 young kids and he looked like he was in poor health for the majority of the reunion. It's time for him to put his feet up and enjoy the rest of his life.

Re: Ruined, Tarnished, Status Quo or Enhanced?

IB once said that the Roses 'did a George Best' when they threw it away/ buggered it up the first time. But not even Bestie did it twice.... It's a shame that they didn't learn something after George Besting it the first time around. They gave everyone a chance to dance between 2012 and 2017...

Re: Ruined, Tarnished, Status Quo or Enhanced?

They're all equally bad, but the 'first take' of FoB on Youtube is 'OK' mainly because it lacks the terrible tub-thumping drums and Lynne's gloopy production. Had George Martin's ears totally gone in 1995? Bizarre they didn't use him if not. The only good thing that came out of it was that it kille...

Re: Ruined, Tarnished, Status Quo or Enhanced?

Same goes for 'Free As A Bird'. Getting Jeff Lynne to buff up a dodgy quality Lennon demo and pass it off as a Beatles single?! The most bizarre thing about 'Free as a Bird' is that none of the surviving Beatles was aware that the song had already been commercially issued -- in 1988 -- on the Imagi...

Re: Ruined, Tarnished, Status Quo or Enhanced?

If a band matters that much. Like really matters, then there's going to be disappointment and a sense of what might have been. I was gutted when the excrement that is 'Cut The Crap' came out under the Clash name. OK, Mick and Topper weren't on it. But Strummer, Simonon and Bernie Rhodes really tarn...
