Another of my favourite recluses, Aphex Twin played at Field Day on Saturday and streamed his 2 hour heavy, electronic, electic set.

Here's a youtube link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK-uis770h4&t=3708s

removed due to copyright.

Been Field day a few times but the lineup didn't quite have enough to make me want to spend the dough this year. Though I'm very intrequed to see how that Aphex Twin set went down.

This link works for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzvLiwUK3R8

Although I'm sure the experience of sitting in front of a computer's not quite the same as experiencing being right there in the crowd in his bespoke tent. I didn't go but mates (all of whom are really into their electronica and long time fans) said it basically completely ticked all the boxes.

As well as streaming it live, there was a new LP given away or sold to people there as well apparently. That's uploaded now as well, adding to the recent deluge of Aphex music online.

I went to Field Day I think in 2012 and 2013. Both were great... I remember superb sets by Tortoise, Bat For Lashes, Mulatu Astatke...

Ride (who are reminding me a bit of recent Mogwai for some reason) continue to unveil new music. .

According to the NME website...“Lyrically ‘Lannoy Point’ is my reflection on what the fuck is going on with all this backward ‘Little Britain’ depressing, blind faith, Brexit times we find ourselves in,” said Mark Gardner. “As I muse on in the chorus, I hope that “A better sense can start again” to find our way out of this mess!’
