Liam Gallagher's single

Post by eviltimeban » Thu Jun 01, 2017 2:37 pm

Thoughts? While the production is pretty good, the mastering is awful. Far too compressed and distorted. Sign of the time unfortunately.

However as a song I think it's a little gem, a bit unexpected and pretty catchy. Sounds modern enough to appeal to a younger generation, and just the right side of rock n roll to keep the Oasis fans happy.

Going to the Dublin gig on the 10th and looking forward to it.

Yeah I really like the new tune, and his voice is sounding great based on the two gigs so far. Hope it stays that way.

I also like how he is being quite humble in his interviews, not slagging everyone off. The guy has made some monumental errors in his personal life over the last few years, and it seems like he has had some (self-inflicted) dark days which have hopefully made him a bit more mature.

I hope he makes a success of this solo lark, and the early signs are promising.

I quite like it cos it's Liam and I like Liam.
Good to have new music from an artist I like.
It's a shame the stone roses are stuck in the past :(

I think his voice also sounds better live than it did a few years ago, or is it just me who thinks this?

I don't think he has sounded this good since the 90s.

As I said, he has matured and you can tell from his interviews that he regrets what he has done in recent years, and i think he appreciates everything a lot more now having hit rock bottom. That has resulted in a new attitude towards protecting his voice - read an interview where he says he has cut back on the cigs, and has been drinking some weird smoothies that help his throat.

And to fly in after a gig in Germany for the One Love show, and to sing Live Forever the way he did. What a guy. Love him.

I'm amused by the apparent lyrical reference to The Stone Roses (and One Direction).

Wow, I had no idea he came straight from a gig in Germany. Yes, he was great tonight.
